KOICA and CDC Discuss Strategic Framework for 2026-2030 Partnership

Phnom Penh:The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Cambodia Office and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) recently convened a meeting to discuss the development of KOICA's Country Partnership Document (CPD) for 2026-2030. The meeting took place on October 7 at the CDC Office.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the consultation aimed to enhance long-term strategic development cooperation between the two parties. The event was co-chaired by H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Missions and Second Vice-Chairman of the CDC, and Mr. Kim Junmo, Country Director of the KOICA Cambodia Office. Senior officials and representatives from both organizations participated in the discussions.

KOICA's proposed five-year strategic cooperation framework was presented during the meeting, focusing on development priorities, strategic directions, and key areas for future cooperation with Cambodia. The framework, under the vision of 'Sustainable and Innovative Commitment to Future Generations,' includes four core programs and 16 intermediate objectives covering technical and digital education, health resilience, climate adaptation, and safe rural community development.

The proposed CPD seeks to unify KOICA's strategic direction, expected results, and cooperation modalities in Cambodia from 2026 to 2030. Participants discussed the framework, emphasizing national development priorities, implementation feasibility, and institutional coordination.

Mr. Kim Junmo highlighted the significance of close consultation in preparing and finalizing the CPD, stressing the importance of aligning KOICA's cooperation framework with Cambodia's development needs.

H.E. Chhieng Yanara offered guidance on program selections and sector priorities, emphasizing coordination with relevant ministries to ensure alignment with Cambodia's national strategies.

The outcomes of this consultation will influence the development of the CPD, with KOICA continuing discussions with stakeholders before finalizing the document. Both organizations reiterated their commitment to a cooperative framework that aligns with Cambodia's long-term development goals.
