Phnom Penh:King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have returned to Cambodia after undergoing medical checkups in Beijing, China.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the royal couple was received at Techo International Airport by prominent figures, including Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, National Assembly President Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet along with his spouse, Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, and other high-ranking officials.

The King and Queen Mother had been in Beijing since September 1, 2026, for their routine medical examinations. These visits to China are a regular occurrence, typically happening twice a year, with each visit lasting about a month.

Previously, King Sihamoni spent over three months in China for medical treatment, which included surgery and close medical supervision at the Royal Residence in Beijing under the care of senior medical specialists.
