Phnom penh: H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, has called on the private sector to work closely with the Ministry of Commerce to enhance the business and investment environment, and to bolster and expand export-import markets. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the minister made this appeal during a seminar focused on Domestic Trade and Exports, organized by the International Business Chamber of Cambodia in Phnom Penh on January 28. The event gathered representatives from national and international business and investment communities, as well as numerous private sector representatives. H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul expressed her appreciation for the seminar's initiative, recognizing it as a valuable platform for private sector representatives to meet, discuss, and exchange perspectives on recent developments in trade, economic, and investment conditions both in Cambodia and globally. The seminar also served as a venue for proposing solutions to ongoing challenges. The minister underscored the essential role of the private sector in promoting trade and investment, in conjunction with the government's ongoing efforts to improve the business and investment climate and to strengthen and expand export-import markets. She also pointed out major achievements by the Ministry of Commerce in recent years, including the modernization of public service delivery through the issuance of a Prakas on the simplification of business registration procedures and the digitalization of public service fee payments. The minister urged all private sector participants to actively engage in the discussions, especially by offering ideas and inputs that could aid in the formulation and dissemination of policies and strategies by the Royal Government. These strategies are aimed at strengthening supply and value chains, promoting domestic trade activities, and boosting exports.
