Chinese Ambassador Distributes Aid to 1,700 Displaced Families in Banteay Meanchey

Banteay meanchey: Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin visited temporary shelters in Svay Chek district, Banteay Meanchey province, on Sunday to distribute humanitarian aid to 1,700 displaced families, reinforcing the "diamond cooperation" and "ironclad" friendship between the two nations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Ambassador, accompanied by Banteay Meanchey Governor H.E. Oum Reatrey, personally met with residents to deliver essential food supplies and daily necessities. The outreach targeted families currently residing in temporary housing within Slakram commune.

During the visit, Ambassador Wang emphasised the Chinese government's deep commitment to the welfare of the Cambodian people. "The government and people of China never forget their sincere friendship with Cambodia," H.E. Wang said. "This humanitarian mission is a testament to China's commitment to standing together with Cambodia through thick and thin, supporting the Royal Government's efforts to alleviate the hardships of displaced families."

The Ambassador further noted that the bilateral "ironclad" partnership extends beyond high-level economic cooperation to grassroots welfare, particularly in providing relief to those forced to relocate due to conflict or instability.

Governor Oum Reatrey expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the provincial administration and the affected residents, noting that the timely assistance provides both material relief and significant moral support. "This aid is of immense value," the Governor stated. "It does more than address the immediate needs of these 1,700 families; it serves as a powerful message that they have not been abandoned."

Following on the same day, H.E. Ambassador also visited and distributed humanitarian aid to 408 displaced families temporarily staying in Wat Kok Mon, Banteay Ampil district, Oddar Meanchey province, under the coordination of H.E. Mean Chanyada, Governor of Oddar Meanchey province.
