Cambodia’s Trade Turnover Surpasses US$58 Billion in First Nine Months of 2026

Phnom Penh:Cambodia's total import-export turnover reached US$58.49 billion in the first nine months of 2026, marking a 22.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, from January to September, Cambodia exported goods worth US$27.47 billion to international markets, reflecting an 18 percent year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, imports rose 26 percent to US$31.01 billion.

The figures indicate that the Kingdom recorded a trade deficit of approximately US$3.54 billion during this period. The robust growth in trade underscores the expansion of Cambodia's export and import activities, bolstered by enhanced market access and participation in regional and bilateral trade agreements.

Cambodia is actively promoting export-market diversification, improving trade facilitation, and expanding opportunities for its products in international markets, stated H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce. He noted that the strong export performance reflects global market trust in Cambodian goods and the success of its trade partnerships.

Cambodia's involvement in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and bilateral free trade agreements, such as the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement and Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement, has facilitated preferential market access for Cambodian products.

The country's major export products include garments, footwear and travel goods, machinery and electrical equipment, agricultural products, bicycles, tyres, furniture, and other manufactured goods. Key imports consist of raw materials for manufacturing, petroleum products, vehicles, electronics, and other consumer and production goods.
