Cambodia's trade with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) countries reached US$25.54 billion in the first nine months of 2024, up 17.1 percent over the same period last year, a report said on Wednesday. From January to September this year, the country exported US$6.76 billion worth of products to RCEP countries, up 16.3 percent, while it recorded the import of goods worth US$18.78 billion from RCEP countries, up 17.3 percent, the source added. The country's trade volume with RCEP members accounted for 61.6 percent of her total trade volume during the period, said the report from the General Department of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Cambodia's top five trading partners under the regional mega-trade pact are China, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Singapore. Effective in 2022, the RCEP comprises 15 Asia-Pacific countries, including 10 ASEAN member states and their five trading partners, namely China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Ministry of Commer ce's Secretary of State and Spokesperson H.E. Penn Sovicheat spoke highly of the RCEP agreement, stressing that it provides huge market for Cambodia's products.
