Cambodia: Cambodia exported US$5.01 billion worth of goods to the European Union (EU) in 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 13.5 percent, according to a report released by the Ministry of Commerce. The growth was driven mainly by manufacturing, agro-processing, and emerging industrial products, including garments, footwear and travel goods, bicycles, car tyres, as well as EU-compliant agricultural products such as milled rice and cassava. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in 2025, the EU market accounted for 16 percent of Cambodia's total exports. The Kingdom's key export destinations within the EU were Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium. Cambodia exported US$1.19 billion to Spain, US$1.01 billion to the Netherlands, US$568 million to France, and US$503 million to Belgium, recording double-digit growth of 11.5 percent, 20.6 percent, 12.5 percent, and 20.7 percent, respectively. Exports to Germany, however, saw a slight decline of 0.8 percent to US$1.10 billion, the report noted. H.E. Penn Sovicheat, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, attributed the export growth to strengthened cooperation between Cambodia and the EU in expanding market access and enhancing technical assistance to boost trade activities. 'The positive trade momentum is supported by the EU's preferential tariff system, which provides duty-free and quota-free access for most Cambodian products,' he said. Meanwhile, Cambodia imported US$863 million worth of goods from the EU in 2025, a decrease of 5.8 percent compared to 2024, the report added. Cambodia's main imports from the EU included machinery, household appliances, pharmaceuticals, vehicles, pearls and precious stones, textiles, and electrical equipment, among others.
