Phnom penh: Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has sent a congratulatory message to Hon. Tan Sri Dato' (Dr.) Johari bin Abdul, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, on the 69th Anniversary of Independence Day of Malaysia. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Samdech Khuon Sudary expressed her congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the National Assembly of Cambodia and herself to the Speaker, his colleagues, and the people of Malaysia. The message was sent in honor of Malaysia's Independence Day, celebrated on August 31, 2026, and dated August 27. Samdech Khuon Sudary highlighted the longstanding ties between Cambodia and Malaysia, emphasizing their enhancement and nurturing based on mutual respect, understanding, trust, and interest. She noted that cooperation between the two countries has been strengthened across various sectors, including economy, security, and cultural exchanges. She expressed her belief that the ties, particularly between the legislatures, will continue to flourish for the betterment of both nations' peoples.
