Phnom penh: Cambodian Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation H.E. Chea Somethy and his wife, Chea Phalkun, along with ministry officials, shared a solidarity meal and distributed gifts to orphaned children on Wednesday at the Phnom Penh Thmey Orphanage Centre, ahead of the traditional Khmer New Year.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the event, the Minister and his wife donated a wide range of educational materials, essential supplies, and 2 million Riel (approximately US$500) in cash for the centre.
The event was attended by Phnom Penh's deputy governor, local authorities, and a total of 270 orphaned children from the New Phnom Penh Orphanage Centre, Kolap Orphanage Centre 4, AFESIP Cambodia, and the National Infant and Children's Centre.
