Cambodian Food Producers Eye Singapore Market Expansion Through Business Matching Initiative

Phnom penh: Cambodian food producers are eyeing the expansion of their presence in Singapore's retail market following a business matching event aimed at strengthening trade links and promoting agro-food exports. The event, held on the afternoon of April 8 in Singapore, was led by H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State and Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force at Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce, with support from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event brought together representatives from the Cambodia Cashew Federation and Cambodia Rice Federation, along with five food manufacturers including Ample Agro Products, One More Company, Misota Group, Khmer Foods Group, and City Rice Import Export Co., Ltd. They met with major Singaporean retailers, FairPrice Group and Cold Storage, which have around 370 and 89 outlets nationwide, respectively.

During the event, both sides shared insights and engaged in in-depth discussions on the criteria, standards, and requirements for exporting Cambodian products to Singapore. Cambodian companies received valuable feedback to ensure their products meet international standards, improve quality, and strengthen competitiveness in the region.

The event also served as a key platform to promote and showcase Cambodian products internationally, aiming to increase product value, expand collaboration opportunities, and create sustainable export pathways. This impactful Business Matching is expected to lead to concrete partnership agreements and significantly expand Cambodian exports to Singapore and other international markets.
