Cambodia to File Complaint with UN Court Over Border Disputes with Thailand: PM

Phnom Penh: Cambodia will file a complaint tomorrow with the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the United Nations, over four disputed border areas with Thailand, Cambodian Prime Minister, Hun Manet, stated last night.

According to Nam News Network, the four sensitive border areas in question are Mom Bei, Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Moan Tauch Temple, and Ta Krabei Temple. Mom Bei, also known as the Emerald Triangle, is a region where the borders of Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos converge.

The decision to file the complaint follows a brief exchange of gunfire between Cambodian and Thai soldiers at the Emerald Triangle on May 28, which resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
