Cambodia Inaugurates Strategic National Road No. 10

Pursat:National Road No. 10, a strategic 198.518-kilometer route connecting Battambang, Pursat, and Koh Kong provinces, was officially opened for public use on Thursday, enhancing Cambodia's transport infrastructure. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the inauguration ceremony took place in Veal Veng district, Pursat province, and was presided over by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. The Prime Minister emphasized that the new road would benefit local communities and stimulate economic activities across the three provinces and beyond. The road begins at National Road No. 57-7 in Kanchang village, Battambang province, and extends through Veal Veng district in Pursat province, ending at National Road No. 48 in Khemarak Phoumin city, Koh Kong province. It includes the construction of 20 new bridges and the expansion of 12 existing ones, totaling a length of 2,325 meters. A notable feature is the Techo Peace Bridge of Russey Chrum, which is 537 meters long and 10 meters wide, expanding to 15 meters at its center. The bridge, named by the Royal Government, has 12 spans and rises 90 meters above the streambed at its central section, offering a viewing and photo stop. H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, stated that construction began in March 2020 and concluded in May 2025, spanning 66 months at a cost of approximately US$252 million. The project was funded through a concessional loan from the Chinese Government and counterpart funding from the Royal Government of Cambodia. National Road No. 10 is anticipated to enhance transport connectivity, facilitate the movement of goods, and promote tourism along the scenic route.
