Phnom penh: Cambodian Ju-Jitsu athletes secured a total of 109 medals at the Asian Regional Championship Southeast Asia 2026, which was hosted by the Kingdom in Siem Reap province from Aug. 21 to 23. The medal haul comprised 15 gold, 28 silver, and 66 bronze medals, placing Cambodia fourth on the overall medal tally. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Vietnam topped the standings, followed by the Philippines and Singapore, while Indonesia, Malaysia, Lao PDR, and Myanmar finished fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth, respectively. The championship concluded with a closing ceremony held on Aug. 23 under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC). In his remarks, H.E. Dr. Thong Khon congratulated all participating athletes on their achievements and expressed his pride that the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation had selected Cambodia to host the regional championship. He said hosting the event provided a valuable opportunity for Cambodia to further promote the development of sports and showcase the Kingdom's capacity to organise international sporting events and its capabilities on the international stage.
