Phnom penh: Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, conducted a diplomatic briefing on the latest developments in the Cambodia-Thailand border situation for Heads of Diplomatic Missions and Representatives of International Organisations in Phnom Penh. The briefing was attended by representatives from 33 missions, totaling 55 participants.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Deputy Prime Minister informed the meeting about the main outcomes of several significant diplomatic engagements, including the Special ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting held in Kuala Lumpur on December 22, 2025, the 3rd Special General Border Committee Meeting on December 27, 2025, and the Trilateral Meeting involving Cambodia, Thailand, and China in Yunnan Province, China, on December 29, 2025. These gatherings aimed to promote the full and effective implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed deep concern over the resumed encroachment activities by Thai armed forces within Cambodia's territory, affecting the provinces of Banteay Meanchey, Pursat, Preah Vihear, and Oddar Meanchey. He emphasized Cambodia's commitment to maintaining the ceasefire and resolving disputes peacefully in line with international law, the UN Charter, and the ASEAN Charter, while strictly adhering to existing bilateral agreements between the two nations.
