Cambodia and Vietnam Sign Monument Renovation Deal to Strengthen Ties

Hanoi:Phnom Penh: Cambodia and Vietnam have reached an agreement to implement a renovation and beautification plan for Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monuments throughout Cambodia. This initiative is part of efforts to bolster bilateral relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the announcement was made by Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM), during the 9th meeting with Vietnam's Ministry of National Defence in Hanoi.

The meeting included discussions on past achievements and future cooperation strategies, culminating in the signing of the 9th Protocol. This protocol outlines the plan for the construction, renovation, and beautification of the monuments, signed by H.E. Hei Bavy, Vice President of the SFDCM, and H.E. Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam.

Samdech Men Sam An highlighted that the meeting's outcomes are crucial for enhancing ties across various sectors, such as diplomacy, trade, and defence. She affirmed that the relationship between Cambodia and Vietnam continues to grow each year, adhering to the principles of good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability.
