Phnom penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received a courtesy call from H.E. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, during the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn expressed satisfaction with the ongoing growth in bilateral relations and cooperation across multiple sectors. He congratulated the Government of Vietnam on its successful general election conducted on March 15, 2026.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining frequent high-level exchanges to further enhance ties. He noted the recent state visit of H.E. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, to Cambodia in February as a significant milestone.
H.E. Nguyen Manh Cuong reaffirmed Vietnam's commitment to collaborate closely with Cambodia in organizing activities to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year.
Both sides acknowledged progress in key cooperation areas, including defense and security, trade and investment, connectivity, people-to-people exchanges, and human resource development. They pledged to expand collaboration for mutual benefit.
H.E. Prak Sokhonn also briefed the Vietnamese delegation on recent developments along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
