Phnom penh: Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, engaged in a significant dialogue with H.E. Andrey Rudenko, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, at the Senate's Solidarity Palace on August 24.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate, reported that Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended a warm welcome to the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, emphasizing the visit's role in fostering the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Cambodia and Russia.

During the meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Russia, underscoring the enduring connection between the two nations. H.E. Andrey Rudenko commended Samdech Techo Hun Sen for his prominent role in enhancing Cambodia-Russia relations and elevating Cambodia's international standing.

The discussions also included efforts to boost bilateral trade, with Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressing satisfaction with the ongoing attention from Russia. He appreciated the dialogues with Prime Minister Samdech Maha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, specifically focusing on trade and economic cooperation as crucial components of the Cambodia-Russia partnership.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen reminisced about the historical cooperation between the countries, reflecting on his contributions from his tenure as foreign minister to prime minister. He acknowledged the consistent support from Russia, particularly in areas such as human resource development and training.

H.E. Andrey Rudenko conveyed anticipation from Russian leaders, including President Vladimir Putin, for Samdech Techo Hun Sen's upcoming visit to Russia. Samdech Techo Hun Sen mentioned that he was evaluating possible dates for the visit and expressed readiness to host a planned visit by the leader of Russia's United Russia Party to Cambodia.
