Cambodia and Japan Strengthen Development Cooperation

Phnom Penh:H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, met with Mr. Yuho Hayakawa, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, on October 2 to discuss strengthening development cooperation.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting emphasized the expansion of cooperation in areas such as physical infrastructure construction, logistics system development, and attracting foreign direct investment from Japan.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation for the cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Government of Japan, facilitated by JICA, which has significantly contributed to Cambodia's socio-economic recovery and development. H.E. Sun Chanthol affirmed the CDC's commitment to support Japanese investors interested in business opportunities in Cambodia.

Mr. Yuho Hayakawa, representing JICA, lauded Cambodia's rapid development and confirmed JICA's dedication to maintaining close cooperation with Cambodian ministries and institutions to ensure successful outcomes for all projects.
