Phnom penh: A total of 150 Khmer bronze artefacts will be loaned to China for exhibition starting in late 2026, offering Chinese audiences an opportunity to explore the richness of Khmer civilisation and encouraging them to visit the Kingdom. The loan project was discussed on Jan. 6 in Phnom Penh during a meeting between H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, and a delegation from Angkor International Cultural Investment and Development (Cambodia). According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the artefacts will be showcased at three exhibition venues in China, with the Hubei Provincial Museum serving as the first location. H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona expressed her support for the initiative, stressing that the exhibition represents a valuable opportunity to promote Cambodia's cultural heritage to the Chinese public, many of whom have not yet had the chance to visit the country. She also urged the company to ensure strict safeguarding of the loaned artefacts and to closely coordinate with exper ts from the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts in preparing the exhibition content. In addition, H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona reaffirmed the Ministry's support for the company's broader initiatives aimed at promoting cultural exchanges between Cambodia and China, including the planned opening of the Zhou Daguan Museum.
