World Bank Appreciates Cambodia’s Climate Change Management

World Bank has appreciated the leadership of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen on climate change, including the development of Cambodia’s Long-Term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality.

Mr. Benoît Bosquet, World Bank’s Regional Director for Sustainable Development for East Asia and Pacific Region, expressed the appreciation in a meeting with H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment here in Phnom Penh on Monday.

H.E. Say Samal briefed the World Bank delegate on Cambodia’s peace and economic growth for the last two decades.

The minister reiterated the country’s commitment as the ASEAN Chair this year and a UN member in launching the Cambodia’s Long-Term Strategy for Carbon Neutrality with Zero-Carbon emission goals in 2050 in line with Cambodia’s strategy to support multilateralism.

The two sides also discussed issues on waste and solid waste management, ecotourism and carbon credit market.
