US$11 Million Contract for Cassava Chips Signed in Preah Vihear Province

A firm branded Hang Harvest Agriculture Co., Ltd. will buy over 50,000 tonnes of cassava chips from 11 agricultural cooperatives in Preah Vihear province in 2022.

The contract worth US$11 million was signed in the provincial city yesterday afternoon under the presidency of H.E. Kim Rithy, Governor of Preah Vihear province.

Addressing the function, H.E. Kim Rithy welcomed the signing of annual contract and encouraged both sides to implement well their contract’s conditions.

The governor underlined that this cooperation reflects Cambodia’s strong cassava market for export to China contributing significantly to boosting the national economic growth.

He also expressed thanks to the leadership and working group of Cambodia Agricultural Sector Diversification Project, SBK, Hang Harvest Agriculture Co., Ltd., particularly the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, for their efforts in making possible the contract, as well as for their good cooperation with local authorities and concerned parties to implement the project despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
