As the Sea Festival will be resumed in Preah Sihanouk province later this year, H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism has called on the private sector to set reasonable and affordable tour packages for tourists aiming to attract both national and international visitors.
He made the appeal in a meeting held here yesterday afternoon in a hybrid format with the participation of H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province, H.E. Ms. Mithona Phouthang, Governor of Koh Kong province, and many other relevant officials.
In the meeting, H.E. Thong Khon expressed his belief that affordable and flexible tour package rates will encourage tourists to join the upcoming festival.
The 9th Sea Festival will be organised from Dec. 9 to 11 in Sihanoukville, along with the 2022 World Congress of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club (World-Bays Club).
Cambodia has organised the Sea Festival since 2011 on a rotating basis in the country’s four coastal provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kep, Koh Kong and Kampot. It was postponed in the past two years to contribute to preventing the COVID-19 spread.
Cambodia’s coastline stretches about 450 kilometres in the four above-said provinces. It became a member of the Club of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays in mid-2011.
