Restoration of Ta Nei Temple Gate to Complete This Month

The Department of Conservation of Monuments and Preventive Archaeology is complementing the restoration work of the east gate of Ta Nei Temple.

The work was shared in a news release issued this week by the APSARA National Authority.

The complementary restoration includes carving the four colonettes of the gate, adding new stones to replace the missing and damaged ones to maintain the balance of the entire gate, plastering the roof to prevent water seepage, and arranging drainage from the gates.

Mr. Thai Dimong, an architect at the Department of Temple Preservation in Angkor Park and Preventive Archaeology, said it could take one month and is likely to be completed in late June.

The renovation will further beautify and secure its lasting, he added.

Especially the gate has been de-structured by the growing roots of trees and trees.
