Reminder on COVID-19 Home Treatment Procedures

The Ministry of Health has circulated a reminding directive on the strengthening of the standard operational procedures for home control, care and treatment of COVID-19.

Issued on Feb. 13 under the name of Health Minister H.E. Mam Bunheng, the reminder re-emphasised the first circulation of the home treatment SOPs by the Ministry of Health on Jan. 21 and was aimed to secure proper compliance as COVID-19 detections, especially the Omicron variant, are surging.

According to the directive, home treatment is allowed for mild case of COVID-19 infection and it needs to follow a guided procedure, not only for the patient to effectively recover, but also to mitigate potential outbreak risk.

The home treatment SOPs underlined healthy setting for patients to pursue, safe movement and interaction, the Molnupiravir Capsules 200mg access and medication, and the monitoring of the disease development, including the use of rapid testing.

It also guided on the management of waste from the COVID-19 home treatment, provided hotline for further information and called on the cooperation among the local authorities as well as medical personnel.

Though it is less severe than the previous variant, underlined the directive, the Omicron has claimed lives in countries globally, therefore, full compliance of the SOPs is essential toward sustainable recovery.
