PM Instructs Authorities to Provide Favourable Conditions for All Registered Political Parties

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has advised the authorities at all levels to provide favourable conditions for all political parties registered at the Ministry of Interior to conduct their activities without obstruction.

While presiding over the official inauguration ceremony of seven bridges, held in Kratie provincial city this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said all registered political parties can use public spaces for the gathering with their party members, install their party labels at localities, and so on.

But, Samdech Techo Prime Minister stressed, all political parties are also required to respect the existing laws.

Moreover, the Premier laid stress on the necessity to ensure the smooth and safe process of the election, noting that since 2003, there have been neither death nor injury due to election in Cambodia.

As of January, a total of 45 political parties have registered at the Ministry of Interior.

Cambodia is going to hold the 5th Commune/Sangkat Council Election on June 5, 2022. According to the 2021 voter list, validated and put into use last weekend by the National Election Committee (NEC), there are in total 9,205,681 eligible voters in the Kingdom, of them 4,904,832 are women, or 87.94 percent of the total population of 18 years old and up.
