Over 300 athletes have attended a cycling event for the 45th Remembrance Day o “Journey to Overthrow the Pol Pot Genocidal Regime.
Taking place on June 19, the bike racing started from Win-Win Memorial in Phnom Penh to Memut district of Thbong Khmum province and returned from Thbong Khmum to Phnom Penh.
According to Mr. Nou Chamroeun, Secretary General of Cambodian Cycling Federation (CCF), the event implies Cambodia’s peace leading to development in all sectors after the fall of the dark period.
It also helps promote sports among the public, especially toward the SEA Games 2023 that Cambodia will host, he added.
Most of cyclists are from Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kandal, Kampong Cham, and Thbong Khmum provinces.
