A total of 246,195 national and international visitors travelled across Cambodia in the first weekend of August.
The figure suggested an increase by 11.43 percent compared to the previous weekend, pointed out the Ministry of Tourism.
Of the tourists, 224,993 were national visitors and 21,202 were internal foreign tourists.
Siem Reap province was crowned No. 1 as the most visited tourist destination last weekend, followed by the provinces of Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, and Battambang, and Phnom Penh capital.
The Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial and Municipal Tourism Departments continued to enforce the implementation of safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) introduced by the ministry to prevent possible transmission of COVID-19.
