Mrs. Louise MUSHIKIWABO, Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia and at the same time lead the first Economic and Trade Mission of La Francophonie in South-East Asia from Mar. 28 to 30, 2022 in Phnom Penh.

The visit will be made at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), said a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

According to the source, during her official visit to Cambodia, Mrs. Louise MUSHIKIWABO will be received in courtesy audience by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HUN SEN, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia. She will also have a working session with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn, aimed at strengthening and deepening cooperation between Cambodia and the OIF.

The Secretary General will also chair with H.E. Dr. ING Kantha-Phavi, Minister of Women’s Affairs, a meeting with Cambodian women entrepreneurs.

As part of the Economic and Trade Mission of La Francophonie, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister PRAK Sokhonn and Mrs. Louise MUSHIKIWABO will preside over the opening and signing ceremonies of documents relating to cooperation between professional trade and economic organisations.

This first MECA co-organised by MFAIC and the OIF will aim to encourage, stimulate and promote trade in the Francophone economic area through a new collaboration between the Cambodian State and the Francophone movement. At the heart of these meetings, the digital, renewable energy and agribusiness sectors will be highlighted. More than 130 actors from Cambodian public institutions and trade as well as nearly 70 international French-speaking companies will participate in this event.

During her stay in Phnom Penh, Mrs. Louise MUSHIKIWABO will lay a wreath at the Memorial in honour of the late His Majesty the King-Father NORODOM SIHANOUK, one of the Founding Fathers of the Francophonie.
