North-western Phnom Penh Needs Wastewater Treatment Plant

H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, has requested France to support the construction of another wastewater treatment plant in the northwest of Phnom Penh.

The governor made the request in a meeting on May 18 with H.E. Jacques Pellet, French Ambassador to Cambodia, at Phnom Penh capital hall.

The treatment plant will reduce contamination in Tonle Sap River, he said, stressing Phnom Penh administration will welcome the assistance either in the form of grant or concessional loan.

Speaking highly of rapid development of Phnom Penh, H.E. Jacques Pellet hoped to look into further support to the capital.

H.E. Ambassador encouraged Phnom Penh administration to continue preserving remaining French heritages as they contribute to attracting visitors to the capital.

The two sides also discussed about addressing traffic issue in Phnom Penh and security assurance during key events like the incoming commune/Sangkat election next month.
