New Vietnamese Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Cambodian PM

 

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received here at the Peace Palace this morning H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang, newly appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Cambodia.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier, in the meeting, H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang expressed his delights to be appointed as Ambassador to Cambodia and conveyed Vietnamese leaders’ greetings to Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The Vietnamese diplomat congratulated Cambodia on its development, particularly the success of its COVID-19 vaccination campaign, and thanked the Kingdom for its donations in medical materials and COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam.

H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang pledged to do his best to further foster the relations and cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam, especially in the areas of politics, diplomacy, national defence, trade, economy, agriculture and anti-COVID-19.

For his part, Samdech Techo Prime Minister expressed warm welcome to H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

As Cambodia-Vietnam trade is complementary and saw a noticeable increase despite the COVID-19 crisis, he encouraged both sides to further boost the bilateral trade and to have a bilateral agreement on agriculture such as border agriculture, raw material supply, seed development and supply, border water use, pest control, and so on.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also suggested the resumption of Cambodia-Vietnam direct flights.
