National Wrestling Championship 2023 Warms Up Athletes for SEA Games 2023

The National Wrestling Championship 2023 was a platform that warm up athletes for the SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia.

The insight was highlighted by Mr. Casey Barnett, Vice President of the Wrestling Federation of Cambodia (WFC), in the closing ceremony of the National Wrestling Championship 2023 here in Phnom Penh last Sunday.

Mr. Casey Barnett appreciated the endeavour of the committee, technical officials and athletes for the successful competition.

The competition served as another move forward for athletes, technical officials, arbitrators and judges to warm up their capacity for the SEA Games.

Taking place from Jan. 25 to 29, the National Wrestling Championship 2023 attracted the participation of 96 wrestlers from 10 clubs, associations, and ministries.

The Ministry of Interior won the first place with a total of 22 medals, including 8 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze, followed by the Ministry of National Defence winning 9 medals, the Ministry of Economy and Finance 4 medals, Kampong Chhnang provincial Yeang Pring Meanrith 3 medals and Pursat provincial Wrestling Sport Association 8 medals.
