Narayana Sculpture Returned to Cambodia

“Four-arm Narayana Body”, a Khmer cultural piece, was returned to Cambodia in a ceremony held on Nov. 2 in New York.

H.E. Keo Chhea, Cambodian Ambassador to the United States of America, represented the Royal Government of Cambodia to sign the sculpture’s handover-receiving agreement with representative of Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

According to the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to the United States of America, the sandstone “Four-arm Narayana Body” is in the pre-Angkorian style.

Under the longstanding cooperation on cultural preservation between Cambodia and the United States, many Khmer priceless antiquities have been returned to Cambodia.
