More Than 10,000 Sports Delegates to Join SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia

At least 11,453 sports delegates from the ten ASEAN member countries and Timor-Leste will compete in the upcoming SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 in Cambodia.

The preliminary figure was shared by H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism and Permanent Vice Chairman the Cambodian SEA Games Organising Committee and Cambodian ASEAN Para Games Organising Committee (CAMSOC-CAMAPGOC), at the Royal Torch Lighting and Torch Relay Ceremony for the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games 2023 in front of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap province this morning.

According to H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Cambodia will send 1,312 sports delegates for the upcoming regional games. Thailand will dispatch the most sports delegates, 1,755, followed by Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, Timor-Leste, and Brunei Darussalam.

The forthcoming participation of sports delegates from all member countries in all types of sports reflects the solidarity, friendship, and good cooperation in the family of regional Olympic Movement and a testimony of full support to the Cambodia’s hosting of SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games 2023, he underlined.

Only 45 days left before the 32nd SEA Games to be held from May 5 to 7, and 74 days left before the 12th ASEAN Para Games to take place from June 3 to 9, 2023 under motto of “Sports: Live in Peace.”

In total, 36 sports and a demonstration sport (table football) have been listed for the 32nd SEA Games and 13 for the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
