Ministry, WHO Renew Commitment to Fight Malaria

The Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have renewed their commitment in fighting malaria in Cambodia.

The commitment was stressed during a meeting at the ministry on Mar. 2 between H.E. Dr. Or Vandine, Cambodian Health Secretary of State and Mr. Dr. Pedro Alonso, Director of WHO Global Malaria Programme.

According to H.E. Dr. Or Vandine, during the last ten years, from 2011 to 2021, Cambodia’s malaria death rate dropped significantly and the country recorded no death since 2018.

Cambodia had achieved the goal three years ahead of the targeted timing, and is working hard through comprehensive partnership to achieve the zero-malaria aim in the country by 2025.
