Ministry Warns of Possible Flash Floods

Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology has warned of possible flash floods in different regions this week due to heavy rainfalls.

According to the ministry’s recent weather forecast, possibly hit areas are those in Phnom Penh and the provinces of Prey Veng, Svay Rieng, Kandal, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Kampong Chhnang, Pursat, Mondulkiri, Thbong Khmum, Kampong Cham, Kampot, Koh Kong, and Preah Sihanouk.

The likelihood of the flash floods is high on Oct. 27-28 and the rainfalls will also bring along gusts and lightning.

The temperature will vary between 23 and 31 degrees Celsius for the provinces in the central lowland areas, and from 21 to 29 degrees Celsius for the provinces next to the Dangrek mountain range and highland areas in the northeast.

For the coastal areas, the temperature would be between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius.
