The Ministry of Health has expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the family of Miss Im Srey Nik, a health official at Preah Sihanouk Provincial Referral Hospital.

Im Srey Nik passed away on Aug. 29, at 10:00 pm, due to COVID-19, at the age of 28 years old.

“The passing away of Miss Im Srey Nik is a loss of a health officer who has sacrificed physically and mentally to contribute to the care of COVID-19 patients,” read a condolence letter signed on Aug. 30 by H.E. Prof. Mam Bunheng, Minister of Health.

May the soul of Miss Im Srey Nik rest in peace, added the letter.

Miss Im Srey Nik is the first health officer who lost her life while caring for COVID-19 patients in Cambodia.
