Minister of Information Receives Honorary Doctorate in Thailand

Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith has received an honorary doctorate from Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) in Thailand.

The honorary doctorate conferment ceremony was held under the royal presidency of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of the Kingdom of Thailand at RMUTP in Pathum Thani province on Mar. 8.

This honorary doctorate was awarded for H.E. Khieu Kanharith in recognition of his contribution to Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen in serving Cambodia and bringing about peace, national unity and political stability, especially through the use of media.

The leadership of the information minister has enabled effective utilisation of social media for the best interest of the people and society.

Acknowledging the contribution of his colleagues to the award, H.E. Khieu Kanharith thanked the Thai university for the honorary doctorate, stressing that it represents a strong friendship between Cambodia and Thailand.

RMUTP’s Alumni Dr. Sat Dara recalled H.E. Khieu Kanharith’s contribution to beef up better understanding between Cambodia and Thailand and his hard work in journalism promotion that earned him the recognition.
