Kindergartens Allowed to Reopen

Kindergartens and child care centres, both state and private, have been allowed to resume their activities, according to the Ministry of Education, Youths and Sports.

In its announcement issued on Dec. 1, the ministry underlined that only kindergartens and child care centres for children aged 5 and over are authorised to reopen.

The reopening was made after the primary schools, high schools and higher education schools, both state and private, have reopened smoothly and without noticeable incident related to the health of education staff and students as well as COVID-19 spread in the school institutions across the country, it explained.

Cambodia has recorded COVID-19 low infection rate for about two months. This morning, only 23 new cases were reported; bringing the tally to 120,183, of which 116,548 have recovered, but 2,949 have died.
