India’s Lok Sabha Speaker to Visit Cambodia This Week

A high-level delegation of the Lower House of Parliament of the Republic of India led by H.E. Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha, will pay a four-day official and friendly visit in Cambodia.

The planned visit was shared by H.E. Leng Penglong, Secretary General and Spokesperson at the National Assembly (NA) of Cambodia.

The visit of H.E. Om Birla will take place from April 21 to 24 at the invitation of Cambodia’s NA President Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, stressed H.E. Leng Penglong.

The visit aims to cheer the 70th anniversary of Cambodia-India diplomatic relations as well as to further strengthen the ties of friendship and good cooperation between the two countries’ legislative and executive bodies, continued the spokesperson.

During the visit, Cambodia and India will also jointly sign an agreement on bilateral parliamentary cooperation.

H.E. Om Birla will be granted a royal audience by His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and invite the Cambodian monarch to pay a state visit in India this year to further strengthen the two countries’ relationship.

The Indian President is also scheduled to pay an official visit and join the ASEAN summits hosted by Cambodia in November, he added.
