His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has sent a message to H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, expressing his condolences over a recent plane crash in southern China’s Guangxi region.

“I was distressed to learn that a China Eastern Airlines jetliner carrying 132 people crashed in the mountains in southern China’s Guangxi region on Monday afternoon,” wrote the Cambodian monarch in the royal message dated Mar. 22.

“In this hour of national grief, Her Majesty Queen Mother NORODOM MONINEATH SIHANOUK, the Royal Family and the people of Cambodia join me in conveying our sorrowful condolences to Your Excellency and the families of the victims,” His Majesty the King continued.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of the victims, and we believe that they would be able to overcome this deep mourning,” underlined His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni.
