H.E. Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce and National Representative for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Council, attended yesterday the 20th AEC Council Meeting via videoconference.
The meeting was chaired by H.E. Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II of Brunei Darussalam.
As the National Representative for AEC Council, H.E. Pan Sorasak briefed the meeting about the Priority Economic Deliverables (PEDs) for Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2022.
According to H.E. Minister, a meeting between AEC Council and ASEAN Digital Ministers was organised to exchange views to create consistency between relevant institutions to continue the ASEAN digital transformation agenda.
The 20th AEC Council Meeting discussed key accomplishments and progress of the PEDs under the AEC Pillar for Brunei Darussalam’s ASEAN Chairmanship for 2021; cross-cutting recommendations of the Mid Term Review (MTR) report of the AEC Blueprint 2025; AEC’s reports for 38th and 39th ASEAN Summit; readiness to prepare ASEAN Post-2025 Vision Paper; preparations for the 38th and 39th ASEAN Summit; and Cambodia’s ASEAN Chairmanship for 2022, he pointed out.
