COVID-19: National Counts Exceed 100,000 Mark

Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally surpassed the 100,000 mark this morning after 629 new cases were detected, according to the Ministry of Health’s press release.

The same source pointed out that 113 of the new infections were imported while the rest were connected to the Feb. 20 community outbreak.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health announced 422 new recoveries but 9 new deaths; the total cured and death cases in the Kingdom thus increased to 94,326 and 2,049, respectively.

The first COVID-19 case was reported in Cambodia in late January 2020 in Preah Sihanouk province. The confirmed cases have surged quickly this year due to the Feb. 20 incident.
