Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) reached here yesterday afternoon a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on humanitarian mine action partnership.

The MoU was inked by H.E. Prum Sopheakmongkul, CMAA Secretary General, and Mr. Len Austin, Golden West Cambodia Country Director, under the witness of H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of CMAA.

According to CMAA, the partnership will contribute to the modernisation of technical skills and innovation in mine clearance operations thanks to new technologies, which will enhance safety for deminers and increase the efficiency and speed up the operations.

The partnership will also contribute to accelerating the realisation of Cambodia’s goal of a mine-free nation by 2025.
