The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has promoted newly-endorsed investment law to local investors and businessmen who are members of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC).

CDC held a workshop on Wednesday co-chaired by its Secretary General H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea and Oknha Kith Meng, President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, with participation of 400 CCC members.

Speaking at the workshop, H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea briefed the audience on the benefits provided by the new investment law.

The law also give benefits to and promotes SMEs through incentives provided in the prioritised sectors and boost the connection to the large enterprises, he underlined.

“Leaders and members of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce understood clearly and deeply about the law and will expectedly increase their investment as well as promote the law to local and international investors,” H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea said.

For his part, Oknha Kith Meng thanked the CDC for allowing the CCC to provide inputs for elaborating the draft investment law and accepting suggestions from private sector into the draft of new investment law.

Private sector applauds the investment law and is confident that the efficient implementation of the law will make the legal framework more open, transparent, and potential to investment, he said.

Last week, the CDC also hosted an online workshop to promote the new law to Cambodian diplomatic officials abroad so that they promote the law widely to foreign investors and businessmen.
