Two private companies – SD Jinda Garment (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., and Yiya Packaging (Kampuchea) Co., Ltd. – have just received green light from the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) for their two investment projects in Kampong Speu province.
According to two separate press releases of CDC issued recently, the first company will invest US$4 million for the creation of a garment factory in Boseth district.
The second company will inject US$2.5 million for the production of all kinds of paper boxes in Korng Pisey district, it added.
The two newly-approved projects are expected to create a total of 1,240 jobs for the locals, the same source pointed out.
Such investment amid the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrates confidence of investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic.
