Cambodian National Assembly (NA) President, Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin and his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue have been committed to increase the cooperation between the two NAs for post-COVID-19 economic recovery.
The two legislative leaders made the commitment during their bilateral talks via Videoconference this morning.
Both NA presidents lauded the traditional friendship, solidarity and close cooperation between the two countries and highly valued their achievements in all domains, particularly the two-way trade which continued to grow early this year despite the COVID-19 crisis.
Samdech Heng Samrin and H.E. Vuong Dinh Hue also pledged to boost the implementation of the agreements already signed by the two NAs in 2019, especially the promotion of activities of young and women parliamentary friendship groups, and to continue supporting each other at inter-parliamentarian forums in the regional and global frameworks.
Moreover, they congratulated the border demarcation work between both neighbouring nations which is 84 percent complete and hoped that the two governments will solve the remaining work in order to turn the common borderline into a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development for the happiness and prosperity of the two peoples.
Samdech Heng Samrin took the opportunity to thank the Vietnamese side for the financial support for the construction of Cambodian NA’s office building whose groundbreaking ceremony would be held later this year or early next year.
