Cambodia Urges for Joint Strategic Effort for Early Childhood Development

Cambodia has called on all member countries to take part in the implementation of the global partnership strategy for early childhood care and development.

The appeal was made by H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports and Chairman of the National Committee for Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) in a launch ceremony of the strategy via a videoconference on Dec. 6.

The minister reiterated the ministry’s commitment to carry out the strategy to sustainably contribute to protecting and developing small children.

Initiated by UNESCO and partners, the global partnership strategy for early childhood development intends to respond to insufficient services to meet the early childhood’s needs such as pre-schooling, health, nutrition, hygiene, and child protection worldwide.

It is also aligned with the 2030 agendas, which are the core principles for sustainable development to ensure that children can access a good care and quality education.
