Cambodia, UNESCAP Discuss Mine Action Cooperation

Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) have discussed a cooperation on mine clearance in Cambodia.

The discussion took place here this morning via videoconference between H.E. Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and First Vice President of CMAA and H.E. Mrs. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of UNESCAP.

H.E. Ly Thuch expressed deep thanks to UNESCAP for its good cooperation, and asked UNESCAP to consider providing technical support for mine clearance operations in Cambodia.

H.E. Mrs. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana highly appreciated the good cooperation and partnership between the Royal Government of Cambodia and UNESCAP, and reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to continue cooperating with Cambodian in many important sectors, including trade, finance, economy, digital, environment, and climate change.
