Cambodia to Get All 16.5 Million Doses of Sinovac Ordered from China This Month

Cambodia will receive all the 16.5 million doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine ordered from China in August.

“Today, we got 3 million doses of Sinovac and 2 million more will arrive here in the third week or early fourth week of August. So, we will have all the ordered 16.5 million doses of Sinovac,” H.E. Dr. Yuok Sambath, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Health told reporters while welcoming the vaccine’ arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport this morning.

With the newly arrived vaccines, Cambodia has now about 24.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in stock through purchases and donations: 7.2 million doses of Sinopharm, 14.5 million doses of Sinovac, 1,739,000 doses of AstraZeneca, and 1,064,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson.

As of Aug. 11, for the target of 10-million adults, 8,116,152 people have obtained their first jab, or 81.16 percent, among them 6,635,999 have been fully vaccinated.

For the children-youth aged 12 to under 18, whose vaccination campaign began on Aug. 1, 403,562 or 20.52 percent of the two-million target have received their first dose.
