Cambodia to Donate 10 Vaccine Transport Vehicles to Lao PDR

Ten refrigerated vaccine transport vehicles will be donated to Lao PDR in contribution to its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Cambodian Ministry of Health’s press release this morning.

The handover ceremony of the humanitarian assistance will be held on Mar. 12 at Trapaing Kreal international border gate in Stung Treng province, at the border with Champasak province of Lao PDR, it pointed out.

H.E. Dr. Or Vandine, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health and Chairwoman of the National Ad-hoc Commission for COVID-19 Vaccination will represent Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the handover ceremony, it added.

The donation reflects Cambodia’s attention to the health and well-being of the Lao people, as neighbours, as well as to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two nations, the press release underlined.

Cambodia has so far donated COVID-19 vaccine, medical supplies and refrigerated transport vehicles to Lao PDR.

Besides Lao PDR, Cambodia also extended COVID-related assistance to Vietnam, Myanmar, Timor-Leste and Nepal.
